COMING HOME
“Coming Home” is a visual tribute to family bonds, cultural foundations, and good
old fashioned nostalgia - highlighting all the sentimental parts of reuniting with loved ones
and hometowns since Covid first hit in March of 2020.
This photo series touches upon cultural identity as a child of immigrants growing up Filipino American in Southern California; focusing on the spaces and foods that remind me of adolescence, the landscapes that I miss when I'm away,
and the details and personalities of the people I regularly spend time with when I return.
There has been great loss because of Covid, but it has also presented me with a shift in perspective - and a greater appreciation for every chance I get to go home.
